A gray whale (Eschrichtius robustus) shows its fluke, or tail, as it prepares to dive.  This whale is a member of a small pod of gray whales migrating to calving ground in Baja California.  The back and spout of another whale are evident.  Eastern Anacapa with lighthouse and National Park Service buildings in the distance.
