Hundreds of miles from a mountain stream, or any significant supply of water for that matter, three people fish in the water of the California Aqueduct. This aqueduct provides water to Southern California cities that otherwise lack sufficient water supplies. The redistribution of water in California has come at a great cost to the regions which supply the water, resulting in the disappearance of lakes, wetlands and rivers that previously supported vibrant ecosystems.
