Passive solar design is incorporated into the architecture of a building on the Port Hueneme Seabee Base. All windows are glazed to reduce solar absorption, and the overhangs for the windows provide shading during the summer months. Drought resistant landscaping, known as xeriscaping, and a recycled water fountain, are in the foreground.
