The construction of this modern viewing tower and resort near Bagan in the Plain of Temples Architectural Zone is part of why UNESCO and other international NGOs pulled out of the site and stopped assisting in the restoration, Myanmar (Burma), Asia. The owners of the tower and resort are cronies of those in power in the ruling junta, called the SPDC.
