Vegetarians march for their non-meat eating lifestyle

Hundreds of vegetarians gather in the Meat Packing District in New York on Sunday, May 16, 2010 to kick off the Third Veggie Pride Parade in America. The parade is patterned after a similar parade that takes place in Paris and allows vegetarians to espouse their meatless lifestyle. Parade organizers felt that vegetarianism has been overshadowed by other causes despite increased interest in the problems of factory farming and the health hazards of eating meat. (© Frances M.
